In 1966, a Japanese chemical engineer, Mr. Ishii, and a patent department employee and angler, Mr. Yoshida, recognized the attributes of fluorocarbon were perfect for fishing line. Though perfecting the process of extruding flourocarbon proved tricky, the process was perfected, and by 1972, Seaguar Fluorocarbon fishing line was introduced in Japan. Since then, Seaguar has continued to perfect and innovate, and has become a leading name in fishing line.
